Confirmation is a program of instruction or faith formation for people baptized into the Christian faith. During confirmation, the Holy Scriptures are studied and Christian teachings are explored with the guidance of the pastor. Confirmation leads to the public affirmation of baptism. The goal of confirmation is to educate the mind and engage the heart, making disciples of Jesus Christ and active members of the Christian church.
Mabel First Lutheran Church has a two-year confirmation program.
Mentors in the congregation, especially those who serve on the Youth & Education Committee, are available to provide encouragement to our confirmation students. Mentors participate in class meetings, review sermon notes, and engage in conversation with confirmation students to support their progress in becoming confirmed members of the congregation.
